Marry and Tux Bridal, how the story started
1970: The story of Marry & Tux Bridal began in Haverhill, MA where the store was a one room bridal shop, and less than 700 sq.feet.
1976: The opportunity to purchase "The Marry Shoppe" in downtown Nashua presented itself. The Marry Shoppe was a small storefront that was located in the Odd Fellow's building and was purchased in 1976 by our founders, John and Marlene Olefirowicz. Once John & Marlene took over, the store flourished, and it was time to expand to a larger location. In 1982 the store was relocated to 100 Daniel Webster Hwy, which has been our home ever since. |

Founders of Marry and Tux Bridal
1982: Moving the Marry & Tux Shoppe to its current location at 100 Daniel Webster Hwy in Nashua was the first in a series of expansions to our bridal shop.
After the move from Main Street in downtown Nashua to Daniel Webster Hwy the business had flourished to a point where there was a need to expand. Within just three short years of moving, the business grew and John & Marlene along with their daughter Barbara felt the need to add additional showroom space. 1985: In 1985, they met with contractors and drew up plans to create a large second lower level, adding 5,000 sq. ft. to the store. 1988: Once the expansion was completed in 1988 their daughter Barbara took over the business and began running the store full time, allowing her parents to take a step back. |
Marry and Tux Bridal, Renovations and rebranding
Since taking over the business in 1988 Barbara's vision was to provide a memorable experience for every bride regardless of size, shape, or body type. We always catered to brides of all sizes, but Barbara decided that there had to be more options for the plus size bride than just a small rack of dresses in sizes 16 and up.
2012: The location underwent another expansion adding 2,000 sq. ft. to create New England's only plus size wedding dress boutique. Adding this square footage allowed Barbara to remodel what was previously a property management company into a plus size bridal boutique with three large spacious fitting rooms, and the ability to stock over 150 plus size wedding dresses up to size 34. This expansion flows effortlessly from our bridal showrooms, allowing brides of all sizes to find their dream dress. 2014: Marked another significant milestone when Marry & Tux received a makeover that included a complete renovation of the interior, and a new logo. 2019: We decided to refresh our interior by adding custom signage, chandeliers, new paint, updated dressing rooms and energy efficient lighting. 2021: Barbara sold the business after 50 years of helping hundreds of thousands of brides. She will continue a new chapter of Charity work and philanthropy working with the American Friends of the Father Bash Foundation supporting Ugandan orphans. In addition she will helping relief efforts to bring fresh water to geographically isolated locations in the high mountain villages of the Dominican Republic. While not focusing on these two endeavors she will be volunteering at St. Vincent De Paul. |
