So we'll admit it, we love being one of the only stores in NH that carries David Tutera wedding dresses. His gowns just have a unique flair to them that makes them look unlike any other brand in the industry. We also love when a bride finishes her wedding look with a beautiful, angelic veil (I mean... why not?!).
If you haven't looked at Cruiseport Gloucester as an option for a venue, then now is your chance. This location is one fantastic venue for your wedding. Between the ballroom overlooking Gloucester Harbor, the structural details of the building itself, along with the local photo ops this location provides; it's a dream when we get to see photos of one of our brides getting married there. Check out these photos of our bride Nicole and her husband Brian on their big day at Cruiseport Gloucester. Nicole is looking beautiful in her David Tutera wedding dress, and Brian looks just as dashing in his classic black tuxedo. Rachel Girouard Photography was kind enough to share these romantic wedding photos with us, she captured the day in such a beautiful way! If you're like many of our brides, you may be looking for a color other than black for your wedding. While the black tuxedo will never go out of fashion, incorporating a beautiful soft gray into the wedding day palate is something we're definitely getting more requests for.
Did you know that we stock gray tuxedos? Yes, I said it. Gray tuxedos. Did you also know... that there's actually not much difference between a suit and a tuxedo? The primary difference between a suit and a tuxedo is the presence of satin. Typically a tuxedo has a satin "tux stripe" down the sides of both legs, as well as satin on the lapels of the jackets, a small satin trim on the chest pocket, and they're finished with satin covered buttons. Now our lovely gray suits by Allure Men have just the faintest appearance of satin, making them look every so slightly more dressy for your wedding than the off-the-rack suit that is worn to a business meeting. Nothing makes (us) more crazy than seeing a bride walk down the aisle in what we know is a very expensive dress, and the groom is in something much, much less formal. It's your day, but it's also your vision; so stick to your guns and have the men wear what you feel suits your day and your vibe the best. Check out the beautiful photos shared with us by Kate Crabtree Photography, of a wedding party that we dressed in our Allure Men gray suits at the Hardy Farm. This wedding party mixed the heather gray for the groomsmen, steel gray for the groom, finished it with pops of purple on the groomsmen; and the result is pretty spectacular. Love the paisley ties too! If you haven't checked out the Hardy Farm yet, I suggest giving it a look. It's quite a cool venue for the off-beat bride. Located in the White Mountains of Maine, it offers a cool rustic, yet contemporary.... vintage vibe without being forced. Definitely worth a glance! Every little detail of this wedding just makes me think of a classic New England Farm rustic wedding. Alex & Tim got married on Halloween at Smolak Farms in North Andover. Now typically when you think of a Halloween wedding, generally the worst possible literal interpretation of this holiday is painted in your head; but boy is this wedding anything but! Incorporating rustic detailed Halloween accents, pumpkin table centerpieces, and the cutest candy station and cupcakes we ever did see; this wedding is certainly worth a look. Alex walked down the aisle in a beautiful ballgown by Allure Bridals, and her girls complimented the fall foliage beautifully wearing long chocolate bridesmaids dresses. Check out the beautiful photos shared by Boston wedding photographer Kristen Jane Photography, for more photos from this wedding check out Kristen's blog! You've got to see Alex's bridal shoes !
Let me tell you ladies, Maggie Sottero has come a long way. When I say a long way, I mean leaps and bounds. Maggie Sottero exploded onto the scene in 1997 with it's signature corset closure, designed with the idea that it was unlike any other type of closure currently in the industry. Since the beginning every Maggie Sottero dress has been hand made to-order, creating a uniquely beautiful gown for each bride to wear on her big day. Years ago when I started Maggie Sottero was the biggest name our store carried. Their styles were unique, different, interesting, and fit unlike any other manufacturer. The look on a bride's face when she first gets corseted into her Maggie Sottero wedding dress is usually the first time a client really envisions herself as a "bride". Wrap waist wedding dress styles were all the rage years ago, and for the longest time this was the dead give away that a bride was wearing a gown by Maggie Sottero Designs. And yes ladies, some of their dresses even came with a matching purse. Why? Because what bride doesn't want a matching clutch to put her wedding lipstick or some bobby pins in? Duh! They've certainly come a long way in their designs, becoming one of the most desirable and sought after manufacturers in the world. I'd like to say we've done our part because after all, we are a Diamond Retailer (this means we sell a whole lot of their dresses, you're welcome Maggie Sottero) and we've been with their company for quite sometime now. Check out how far Maggie Sottero has come in their designs. Some of these dresses, if I still had them here today....I'd probably make you try it on. I've included a photo of my beloved Rosemary, which quickly became known as RoseKaty to our consultants, because.. well... I put that dress on everyone. What can I say? It fit that well, really. On this flashback Friday, enjoy the throwbacks! Maggie Sottero then...Maggie Sottero now!The Margate is a NH wedding venue that we hear often from our brides, and when we get the opportunity to see photos from a wedding we're all a little ecstatic. If you don't know where the Margate Resort is, it's in the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire, just a short drive from Boston. Directly from it's website, "located at the water's edge of Paugus Bay of Lake Winnipesaukee, our Lakeside Pavilion is a truly one-of-a-kind outdoor wedding ceremony venue, framing the blue sky, mountains, vivid sunsets, and shimmering waters. With breathtaking views of the lake & mountains combined with beautiful landscaping, the West Lawn, our lakeside event venue, is one of the most sought after wedding locations in the Lakes Region." Melissa and Tony got married on a beautiful summer day, and we're all swooning a little over the color palate she chose. Between Melissa wearing a showstopping David Tutera wedding dress, and her girls in pomegranate bridesmaids dresses this wedding party sure popped! Check out the beautiful photos by Erica Follansbee, the day was truly captured in a beautiful way!
The classic veil will never go out of style, but sometimes bridal hair trends come and go. Most recently we've been seeing more bridal halo's, flower crowns, and floral headpieces make their way over into the world of bridal. The flower crown is not something new, however; it's a tradition that started years ago and has since come-and-gone throughout history. Starting in Greece, both men and women wore them at special occasions to honor the gods. Laurel leaf crowns were also worn during this time, given to army victors to acknowledge achievement. In Chinese culture, orange blossom crowns are traditionally worn at wedding ceremonies. Since orange blossom trees blossom and bear fruit simultaneously, the orange blossom crown is thought to be a symbol of fertility in an effort to bring children to the marriage. In the 1960's the flower crown came full force into both the ready-to-wear world, and the world of bridal fashion. The 1960's era is often what we think of when we envision a flower crown but today they're back in many different ways. Whether it be large, small, and sometimes somewhere in between, this trend seems to be sticking around. Check out a few photos below! Photographs by Luna De Mare photography.

It's proximity to both the theater district and the financial district lend itself to some pretty spectacular photo ops. On a picture perfect spring day Jennifer and Kevin exchanged vows and headed over to Boston Common for some portraits. The incredibly talented team over at Boston's famed Person Killian Photography were kind enough to share these photos with us, enjoy! So until this very moment, I didn't even know that this inn was a wedding venue. Guess it's true, you really do learn something every day! Located in Bridgewater, NH the Inn at Newfound Lake is only 2 hours from Logan Airport, who knew? It's grounds feature a renovated historic barn, a sprawling lawn overlooking Newfound Lake, and it's own private beach available for ceremonies. It's website states "The Inn on Newfound Lake has been welcoming travelers since 1840, as an overnight stop on the stage coach route from Boston to Montreal. Still maintaining its historic charm, the Inn greets its guests with a full veranda overlooking the spectacular sunsets on Newfound Lake". Our bride Julie, and her husband Dan walked down the aisle at this venue on a beautiful fall day. With wildflowers in hand, this beautiful bride said yes! Check out the photos by Kiss the Bride Photography below.
Whhhaaattt! We beg you to change your mind. For reals. A veil is one of the most beautiful, traditional, romantic, finishing touches a bride can wear and it really does complete the look. It's so unfortunate that some of our manufacturers choose not to photograph their models with veils because they don't sell the veils...to us, that's just silly, because plenty of bride are still wearing a veil on their big day. Do you hear us Maggie Sottero, Allure Bridals, Mori Lee, Sophia Tolli, David Tutera and everyone else we carry?! Put some veils on your models!
Ultimately the choice to wear, or not to wear a veil is completely up to the bride's personal taste; but if you're even on the fence... we urge you to give it a try. Maybe some beautiful photos will sway you to wear one? Pretty please? PS! The last image on the motorcycle is one of our sales reps, photo by Shooting Star Photography, shot on Cape Cod! However, making your bridesmaid group look "put together", and not like they all just showed up on the same day in the right color is the goal. Whether you're looking for mix and match sequin bridesmaids, mix and match chiffon bridesmaids, or just looking for complete mix and match bridesmaids with no rhyme or reason, we definitely have bridesmaids dresses that will suit your style. Check out just a few of the ones below for some inspiration!

One look at the photography on their website and you'll be scheduling yourself a tour! Check out the beautiful photos by Dodge Imagery of our bride Stephanie wearing one beautiful Sottero & Midgley lace wedding dress with a flowered sash. Her groom, Billy looks just as dapper in his classic black tuxedo. Have a look!
Glen Magna Farms reminds me of a setting from gone with the wind. Maybe I'm crazy, but it has that southern plantation kinda feel, yet located right in Danvers, Massachusetts just outside of Boston. This is one of those venues that once guests arrive to your wedding, it certainly leaves an impression, and I'm sure everyone wonders what the bride will walk down wearing. So when you have a grand historic estate and sprawling gardens as your wedding backdrop, what do you wear? The answer is an incredible ruffled wedding gown by Allure Bridals, which we at Marry & Tux Bridal lovingly refer to as "Georgia". Hire Kiss the Bride wedding photography, and you're sure to get some unforgettable photos. Check out Nina & Pat's GORG photos by Kiss The Bride Photography below!
If you've never heard of the Alerin barn, then you'll be sure to be looking it up after seeing this wedding. Located in Vermont, is a "private, classic New England homestead set amid several hundred acres of rolling Vermont landscape. The Alerin Barn, a grand timber frame, sits upon the banks of "Horned Pout Pond". This pastoral estate boasts a country manor home with beautifully appointed rooms, covered porches, adjoining carriage house, and a hilltop ceremony site." Jarrod & Erica got married on a pretty September day, and their photos by Anne Skidmore Photography are certainly memorable. Wearing a ruffled wedding dress, and a beautiful lace veil Erica looked like a picture perfect bride, with a twist of fun with her ruffled skirt. Add in some pretty purple bridesmaids dresses and some candied apples, and you've got yourself a beautiful Vermont Wedding.
Located in Jackson, New Hampshire, Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club has some gorgeous views of the white mountains. Kristen and Cale had a beautiful day, and quite the pretty color palate. Wearing soft yellow bridesmaids dresses, classic black tuxedos, and a beautiful Sophia Tolli wedding dress, these wedding colors all work together in perfect harmony.
