This may be a bit overdue, but today we're going to share with you photos from one of our favorite venues! The Bellevue Barn at Carlisle Place is the hottest barn wedding venue to hit NH and we're so excited that our bride Emily was the first to get married there! Located in Jefferson, NH the Bellevue Barn describes itself in two words: "elegantly rustic".
Featuring a timber framed outdoor patio for ceremonies, stunning panoramic views, and accommodations for up to 250 guests - why wouldn't you want to have your wedding here?! Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure that any wedding venue that has cornhole on the property, is a wedding I want to attend. Lets also not forget to mention the expertly named "watering hole" bar located inside the venue itself (how cool is that?!). Benton Photography (bentonphoto.com) was the first to photograph at the Bellevue Barn, and childhood sweethearts Emily & Cory couldn't be any cuter. Emily wore the beautiful "Melanie" by Maggie Sottero, and how cute is that baby bump! We are SO excited to share these images with you! Enjoy! Yes, blue wedding dresses are definitely a "thing" in the bridal world these days. For those who dare to be different, these jaw-dropping blue wedding dresses are certainly memorable. I mean, it's not every day that you see a bride wearing this color wedding dress... and if you do happen to see it; I have no doubt that you'll remember it for years to come.
While not often photographed in a blue color, these David Tutera wedding gowns are each shown in their own unique shade of blue. Maybe you're looking to make a statement, or maybe you're looking to wear a traditional wedding dress, but have it ever-so-slightly non-traditional. Whatever your style is, these dresses are certainly stunning and statement-worthy. Keep in mind that while these dresses may be photographed in blue, they are still available for order in the more traditional white or ivory color. Check out our favorites below! Kelly came to us on a Wednesday night with her sister in tow, on the hunt for her perfect wedding gown. With just a very short window before her upcoming wedding, she knew she had to purchase a gown off-the-rack. We're always up for a good challenge, and Kelly was a bride on a mission. After a few maybe's, and a few definitely not's, we tried on the Maggie Sottero Patience dress. With it's flowing English net skirt, the delicate folds in the bodice, and the tiny accents of lace, all three of us in the fitting room instantly knew that this was the dress. So we bagged it up, Kelly went for a fitting, and was married just three short weeks later.
Kelly & Joe were married at the Partridge Hill Farm, located in Sandwich, NH; which has a 250 year old story. The barn is open for events from June through September, hosting weddings, retirement parties, community events, and anything else you can think of throwing a party for! The barn is both rustic, spacious, and is honestly just a beautiful setting (as seen by the photos). Photos of the bride & groom were shared by Kate & Keith Photography . Enjoy! kateandkeithphotography.com If you subscribe to this magazine, or if you've been to one of the New England Bride bridal shows, then this is likely in your mailbox! Gracing the cover is none other than the beautiful Sophia Tolli dress, Emeline, style Y11709.
We're hearing the request for more relaxed, and boho styled wedding dresses daily, and believe us girls; we hear you! While each bride has their own vision of what qualifies as a boho wedding gown, a relaxed wedding gown, or a more vintage-looking wedding gown, we certainly have plenty of wedding dresses here that will qualify!
Today we're going to feature one of our more unique wedding dresses, Nicole by Sottero and Midgley. Made of eyelet lace and featuring a cutout halter neckline and a stunning open back, it's safe to say that this dress doesn't look like any other wedding dress that we have. If you aren't sure what eyelet lace is, eyelet lace is one of the most light, and airy variations from the lace family, and is usually made from a cotton, or silk blend. It's often referred to as the most "boho" wedding dress fabric of them all. Perfect for a backyard party, a destination beach wedding, or as shown in the desert - Nicole is truly adaptable to any situation besides a very formal soiree. Photos courtesy of Sweet Paper Media (sweetpapermedia.com). We currently have Nicole in-stock and waiting for you to try! We are so excited that this trend has started to take off! While there has always been a small handful of designers that offer some sort of a print wedding dress, or a floral print wedding dress - the trend has never really caught on (in this part of the country at least). We are so in love with the David Tutera "Orabelle" wedding dress, that we have it here in two sizes! We currently have our size 10 in the window display looking lovely with bridesmaids surrounding her; and a plus size sample in our curvy wedding dress department!
You may not have known that this dress also comes in a black and white print! Historically we've had a few black and white wedding dresses, but usually the wedding gown itself is black with your choice of white flowers, white embroidery, or white accents on the gown to create the black and white look. This gown is a custom created fabric made for David Tutera in a black and white print, which is super unique. If you're coming to our David Tutera and Sophia Tolli trunk show starting on Friday, you'll be able to try on the lovely Orabelle as well as the new collections by both designers! This event is one of our favorites because rather than receiving a select few gowns from the collection, we're actually getting the entire newest collection for you to try! This event books quickly so I'd suggest making an appointment asap, you don't want to get stuck on the waiting list! Don't forget we schedule evening appointments on Monday, Wednesday & Thursday at 5:00 & 6:30! Above Photo courtesy of Leda & St.Jacques Gone are the days of wearing your standard white or ivory bridal shoes. Brides today are wearing everything from sky high colored stiletto's to cowboy boots, to sneakers. Whether you're looking to wear something covered in glitter, or add a pop of color to your white or ivory dress, bridal shoes are a fun way to incorporate your own personal unique style into your day. While we don't sell bridal shoes.... we sure love seeing them! Lena Mirisola (lenamirisolaphoto.com)Benoit & McCarthy Photography (benoit-mccarthy.com)Kate & Keith Photography (kateandkeithphotography.com)A Photographic Memory (apmnh.com)Erica Ewing Photography (the-ewings.com)Courtney and Scott were married at the Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield ME on 9/7/16.
I had never heard of this venue when Courtney mentioned that this was her venue, but after seeing her wedding photos I'm blown away! Owned by acclaimed singer and songwriter Carol Noonan, it's website states that "this unique space is located just over the border from NH in Brownfield, Maine. Drive up a country road, with the mountains as your guide. When you reach the top there with it’s red clapboards, this special performance space towers over Noonan’s 200 year old farmhouse providing you with a dramatic audience experience you will not soon forget." Stone Mountain Arts Center is 15 minutes from North Conway NH, 1 hour and 15 minutes from Portland Maine, 2 1/2 hours from Boston, and 1 1/2 hours from Portsmouth NH...not a bad drive to come to such a special spot! It seems like yesterday that Courtney pulled up to the store with her mom to begin the search for her wedding gown. If you've never been to our store before, there is a back entrance with a large billboard sized image that you're faced with once you park your car. What are the odds that Courtney pulls up to the store; and the dress she was dying to try on was indeed on that billboard. After trying on multiple gowns during her appointment, the billboard dress ended up being the one! It was such a special, and surreal moment. Talk about fate! Courtney walked down the aisle in a gorgeous Sottero & Midgley wedding gown, and added custom crystal cap sleeves to make it more her own. The end result was beautiful, and what's not to love about a beautiful ballgown in this setting? I'm thrilled to share these photos with you taken by none other than Lindsay Flanagan (www.lindsayflanagan.com) - Located in Southern New Hampshire, available for events throughout New England. Enjoy! ! Let's face it, shopping for your wedding gown is such a unique experience, that most people don't know how to prepare for it. This piece written by our store owner will guide you through how to prepare for your appointment, so saying yes to the dress will be a breeze!
1. Budget - Knowing what you want to spend on your wedding dress helps your consultant pull the perfect dress in your desired price point. Don't worry, this won't limit you; our wedding gown collection is affordably priced from $1100 - $4200. Most brides find that they have tons of wedding dresses within their desired budget, and often times find their wedding dress on their very first visit to our store. 2. Bring your favorites - We can't stress enough: Limit. Your. Posse. Your mom, MOH, and closest people to you should accompany you to the appointment. We recommend bringing no more than 3 people with you to the appointment. Remember, it's very difficult for anyone to look past whether they personally care for a dress, rather than if it's right for the bride and her preferences. The more opinions you get, the more stressed you'll be. Trust us on this one. 3. Eat an hour before your appointment. - This way you'll be able to focus on making a decision without your stomach growling at you! 4. Keep an open mind. - 99.9% of the time brides walk out with what they initially said they "would never wear". Brides who dislike sparkle end up buying the most sparkly wedding dress in the entire store, girls who say they want a clean dress end up buying a wedding dress covered in lace. It's the best when this happens, because brides go with what makes their heart flutter and it's such an exciting moment when they say yes to the dress. 5. Share your Pinterest board! - This gives your consultant and instant idea of the vibe/look/style that you want for your big day. Even if we don't have the exact dress on the board, we're likely to have something similar. If you pin from our Pinterest board, then we're likely have every dress! 6. Tell your consultant what you're thinking and feeling. - We haven't been painstakingly sewing that wedding dress in the backroom for the past 6 months, so believe me; we're not heartbroken when you say you don't care for it. There's a perfect wedding dress out there for every bride, and the goal is for you to find it! Feedback helps your consultant figure out what to pull for you, based on your likes and dislike. Moral of the story is: don't be shy, tell us how you're feeling! 7. Let it happen! - Most of our brides find their wedding dress on their first appointment. With over 500 dresses in stock, its rare that a bride walks out without her dream dress. In case we failed to mention, every single one of our 500 wedding dresses is different, they aren't 30 different sizes of the same gown. That's a lot of wedding dresses in one store! 8. Saying yes to the dress should be as easy as saying yes to his proposal! - Saying yes to the dress should be effortless, fun, amazing, and easy! Saying yes to the dress should by no means be a stressful moment, and the only one who truly knows if it's "the" dress is YOU. With the success of Beauty and the Beast, we figured why not share some of our interpretations of some of the most famous Disney princess dresses! While not every bride wants to look like a princess on their wedding day - let's be serious; every bride wants to feel like a princess on her wedding day. And since some Disney dresses can be a bit too literal, the ones we're sharing with you have that princess-esque feeling, without looking too cotumey. If you want to channel your inner Disney princess on your wedding day, then have a look a the wedding dresses we've chosen below! Disney Princess photos courtesy of: Disney.com Up first is The Disney Cinderella dress! We think Sophia Tolli "Novella" is a beautiful way to look and feel like a princess on your wedding day! Beauty and the Beast wedding dress! We all know Belle's classic and beautiful gold dress she wore in the original, and we fell in love all over again with the dress she wore in the latest movie. Trying to find a Belle wedding dress can be tough, but we think the key is to incorporate some of the styling of the Belle dress into your wedding dress. Maggie Sottero's Bianca shares the same striking bodice as Belle, while keeping some beautiful texture throughout the skirt! Picture it with some off-the-shoulder cap sleeves and boom, you've got your Belle princess wedding dress.Jasmine wedding dress! We all loved the sass of Jamine in the movie Aladdin, and who didn't love her outfit? The Ashley Justin Bride dress below shares some of Jasmine's sass, while incorporating a little bit of boho styling.Elsa wedding dress! We all know that Elsa's dress had beautiful long sleeves and a stunning cape flowing behind her. While these details can be challenging to find in a wedding dress, we do have one that we think fits the Elsa wedding-dress-look. David Tutera "Beryl" in the blue colorway feels very Elsa and has some winter vibes to it as well. Picture an evening wedding, with snow on the ground, and bling details everywhere - then picture wearing David Tuera Beryl. We think you'll agree, the Elsa vibes are there!Tiana wedding dress! Tiana in her beautiful floral dress reminds us of David Tutera's Orabella wedding dress. With Orabella's stunning floral pattern, this dress gives us all the Tiana feels.Rapunzel wedding dress! Inspired by the boho look of Rapunzel's dress, we think that Sottero and Midgley Gabriella has the styling and feel of this classic Disney princess look.
